The internationally renowned blues and guitar player Erja Lyytinen has been awarded the Angel of Rock award, which is a recognition of a significant contribution in the field of rock, metal or blues music during the past year.

The award was given at the beginning of the month at HRH festivals in Britain. In previous years, the same award has been given to, among others, the heavy icon Doro Pesch and Jackie Chambers of the band Girlschool.
