NEW SINGLE "JUOKSE SINÄ HUMMA"
“Juokse Sinä Humma” is a traditional song. It was originally performed and recorded in 1953 by legendary Finnish singer/actor Tapio Rautavaara. It is not a Christmas song per se, but in Finland, you hear the song a lot during the festive period. We played this track for the first time on Independence Day on Finnish National TV. It was exciting to create our version of this traditional tune with Rautavaara´s lyrics.
The song is about a man riding his horse on a silent road. We updated the song to the 21st century, and it turned into an energetic rocking song with a pinch of punk attitude. Almost seventy years later, the song is delivered from a woman’s perspective.
The song has a famous line about how man has got to travel around the world to gather his or her income from here and there - “Small streams growing to large rivers”. This sentence, during these tough times for travelling musicians, gets straight to the point. The song is performed in Finnish, which is nice for a change, as I haven’t recorded many tunes in my native language. If you can - try to sing along; the chorus is easy and catchy.
